Steel Bar Straightening Machine

Installation of steel bar straightening machine (GT4-12 / GT6-16) in APK, JSC

Project 2025: We turn waste steel bar armature back into a commodity.

In 2025, we installed a steel bar straightening and shearing machine (GT4-12 / GT6-16) and started providing a service that turns construction waste into a full-fledged market commodity. We straighten bent steel bars obtained from dismantled reinforcement of structures, arrange the bars based on their length and diameter, and return them back to construction sites.

Benefits to the market and customers:

  • From waste to a commodity: We purchase steel bar armature as scrap metal and, following processing, return it as ready-to-use raw material, which means lower costs of materials and faster delivery terms for construction sites.
  • Economic benefits: Avoiding a full metallurgical remelting chain helps to reduce costs (logistics, energy, purchase of new steel), and the difference in value remains for the benefit of the partnership between us and the customer.
  • Environmental benefits: Straightening and shearing is a low-energy process, which helps to reduce CO₂ footprint by eliminating the need to remelt the metal and produce new steel bar armature.
  • Speed and flexibility: We accept mixed steel bar armature streams (Ø4-Ø16 mm), then straighten, cut and pack the bars in both small and large batches. Our process runs as follows: 1. Accepting and sorting: We assess the diameters, lengths, quality, and separate any unsuitable sections. 2. Straightening: Thanks to the GT4-12 / GT6-16 machine, flexible, bent armature bars are formed into straight bars with the required parameters. 3. Cutting and completion: We cut the bars in line with exact ordered lengths, mark the bars, and prepare them for loading. 4. Quality check: Visual inspection, straightness, length and diameter control, batch documentation. What do we guarantee:
  • Straightness and repeatability: Straightening tolerances meet typical construction needs, and the bar sets are prepared for an immediate installation.
  • Traceability: Each batch has an acceptance/processing/issuance register and accompanying documents.
  • Safety and cleanliness: The work is performed in an enclosed area with safety guards; Materials arrive at the construction site neatly packed. Numbers that speak for themselves:
  • Up to 80-90% shorter chain compared to the purchase of new steel bar armature (factory → warehouse → facility).
  • Significantly lower CO₂ emissions, as there is no need to remelt the metal: the mechanical processing is sufficient.
  • Minimal downtime at the facility: you bring us scrap, and you take away the ready-to-use steel bars. Why is it a win-win situation?
  • For the customer – cheaper, faster, and more sustainable.
  • For us – higher added value from what has been seen just as scrap.
  • For the environment – minimising waste and the need for new raw materials.
